July Stampin’ Club! Our first meeting of the year!

We made 3 (that’s right THREE!) adorable cards to start our year off with a bang! At this meeting, we had one lovely lady who was new to rubber stamping so, we started off with this basic, but beautiful card!

Oh, Hello. Delicate Doilies. 2013-2015 In Colors, rhinestones, white cardstock

Oh, Hello. Delicate Doilies. 2013-2015 In Colors, rhinestones, white cardstock

For this card, I provided pre-cut and scored basic white card stock. I whipped out my brand spanking new Stampin’ Up! 2013-2015 In Color ink pads (which I ADORE). These colors are: Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe and Baked Brown Sugar. I used the greeting from the “Oh, Hello” stamp set, and the “Delicate Doilies” stamp set. (Both Stampin’ Up!) We stamped our doilies then the greeting. We added some fun clear rhinestones to the centers of the doilies as the finishing touch! This card is a perfect example of what you can do for an impressive card in a pinch! One layer wonder!

For our next card, I wanted to do something masculine for a change!

The Open Sea, Early Espresso, Pacific Point, Crumb cake, Linen thread

The Open Sea, Early Espresso, Pacific Point, Crumb cake, Linen thread

This lovely little number is perfect for a special guy on his special day! I provided pre-cut and scored Espresso, Ivory and Pacific Point (SU!) card stock.  I also used a bit of SU! Designer Series Paper – Venetian Romance- for the panel at the bottom (that kind of looks like water).  We stamped our background image in Crumb Cake, then the boat in Early Espresso. We used Crumb Cake to “antique” the edges of our ivory card stock. (NOTE: we adhered the DSP to the ivory prior to distressing so that we could go right over the blue design with our Crumb Cake ink.) We made a tiny banner with SU! Teeny Tiny Wishes and antiqued the edges of that as well. VOILA!

For our third and final card, I actually used one of the new Hostess Sets and it turned out super cute!

Postage Collection, Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, Baked Brown Sugar, Kraft cardstock, Everyday Enchantment Brad, honeycomb texture folder

Postage Collection, Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, Baked Brown Sugar, Kraft cardstock, Everyday Enchantment Brad, honeycomb texture folder

For this little gem, we used the SU! Hostess set “Postage Collection”. I provided pre-cut and scored Kraft, Calypso Coral and Coastal Cabana card stock. We began by stamping 4 frames onto white cardstock in Baked Brown Sugar. We each chose an image from the collection and stamped it  3 times in Coastal Cabana and 1 time in Calypso Coral (inside the frames). This set comes with super cute tiny images (bee, umbrella, hot air balloon…). I had someone in mind for this card that made me choose the chair, lol.  We punched out our images with the SU! Postage Punch (another one of my faves). We used the Honeycomb embossing folder on the Big Shot for our Calypso Coral banner, and then notched both the coral and Coastal Cabana ends to make pennants. Dimensionals made the postage pieces and the greeting really stand out. Stamped the greeting in Baked Brown Sugar onto white card stock and then punched with 3/4″ circle punch.  I had some brads left over from Sale-A-Bration last year and some just happened to match!

All in all, we had a great time and everyone was pleased with their new cards!
